About Interhabs

Established in 1975, Interhabs has been manufacturing and selling houses at home and abroad for over 30 years.

What started as a small local company in Hubbards, NS, has grown into a large international organization with franchised dealers throughout Atlantic Canada, in the the United States and in Europe.

Our manufacturing plant in Hubbards employs over 30 workers. Our head office, located in the heart of downtown Halifax, contains part of our architectural team along with our administrative department, and our main sales office is located in a High-Tech series model home in central Bedford NS.

Harmony, economy, easy maintenance and energy-saving operation guide the development of every Interhabs home. In 1985, the Nova Scotia government recognized our SolarHab design with a Nova Scotia Home Award of Excellence, citing its energy efficiency, economy, flexibility and good design.

In addition, we also received the 1995 & 2004 Export Sales Growth Awards from the province recognizing growth in our export sales, which accounted for over 60% of our company's revenues. Rather than exporting typically "Canadian" houses, we strive to blend our design principles with the indigenous styles and traditions of each country. We've proven that an Interhabs home designed for the harsh Canadian climate adapts well to different environmental challenges around the world.
